I've been drawing ever since I was able to pick up a pencil, so let's say since I was 3- but we are going to skip this era because, well, it was your average toddler drawing. See for yourself
This is when I started taking drawing more seriously. I was creating my own little stories for myself while pretending I had a fanbase, fun times...!
I was for the most part drawing my own little characters. I was SUPER influenced by Warrior cats, and it's all thanks to that is probably the reason I mainly focus on drawing animals/furries. Awesome
When I started secondary school, it was mandatory to own an ipad for classwork. This is the start of my digital art creations, I was fascinated by it, and immediately tried as soon as I got my hands on my first digital drawing app: the free app called Autodesk Sketchbook, already included in my ipad.
I was still relatively interested in warrior cats, but I slowly had a transition to more furry-like features. I didn't have a concrete artstyle and just copied whichever artist I liked. Some artists say it is "bad" to copy someone else's art/artstyle, but hey, I wasn't posting any of this art on social media, plus it helped me develop my skills of my own later on!
Here I genuinely don't know what happened. My art just got BAD. The eyes were incredibly separated, the shading was just bad, the expressions were souless. But since I was extremely depressed and anxious during those years, I think iy might have had a little impact on my art; I simply cared less. I'm gonna blame it on that. I also started posting my art online at 14. I started off on deviantArt and furry Amino. Both were extremely, or starting to, become inactive when I joined. Though I was able to reach a small fanbase, it was very limited.
I'm not going to lie, I like this era very much still. I was getting better with expressions, understood colour theory more, etc. The proportions weren't as off and I had a clear aesthetic. One thing is that I kept making my art too dark- oh well!
These are my current art skills now. as you can tell, I'm mostly focused on Sonic-related art... especially ship art. I really like ship art. Though I don't take it super seriously, like, I don't really care which "ship" becomes canon or not, I really do it for fun and because I like exploring different dynamics. My favourite "ships" are Silver and Amy "silvamy" (though not popular, both match each other's personalities well), Sonic and Blaze "sonaze" (popular-ish, it is one I didn't like at first but I recently got into, and it is one of my favourites), Sonic and Shadow "sonadow" (one of the most popular ships, it is the first ship I liked in the sonic fandom) and Sonic x Silver "sonilver" (though like silvamy, not popular, but it is really cute to me.)
